Before I used the instant eyeshadow, I thought to myself, "Aiseh, why the heck do I need this for?" I have my eyeshadow palettes and they're good enough.

But after my first try with the instant eyeshadow, I fell head over heels with this product. It really can come in handy, especially when you're in a rush to head out, and you need a light make-up on.

I know it's a REALLY bad habit but I'm the sort of person who'd rather spend an extra 10 minutes snoozing, then get up realising "OH SHIT, I'M GONNA BE LATE GODDAMNIT!" :$

Remove eyeshadow sponge from packaging, apply, slide then blend...

Among all the five shades available, I love the Glam Pink most! :D

Which explains why this review focuses mainly on this shade. *giggles*

I took close-up shots of my eyes to show you the after-application effect.

I hope my eyes do not appear scary especially with colored contacts on. :$

After application, use your finger tip to gently blend the colors into each other so that it doesn’t look like the colors are so starkly lined. If you're in a hurry, you're good to go after a simple coat of mascara. I swear mascara does make a difference to your eyes!

But if you have the time, draw on a thin line of eyeliner on your upper lash line to define your eyes. Follow up with a coat of mascara on your curled lashes, or if you wish, you may apply fake lashes. They do contribute in making your eyes appear more attractive. ;)

Also, one of the best tips I've learnt is to line the inner corner of your bottom lash line with a bright sparkly colour to accentuate your eyes and give them some definition, as seen in picture (bottom right) above.

You may then finish off your look by applying a rosy cheek. And of course, before coating your luscious lips with lip gloss, don't forget your Carmex for moist lips all day long. ;)

When applying make-up, I reckon our eyes are one of the most important parts of the face. I believe your eyes are the focal point. If your eyes are perfect, then everything else will just seem to fall into place. And with the instant eyeshadow, you can never go wrong.

You'd probably want to get 2 pairs first to "test it out", but to be really frank, I reckon getting 12 pairs straight would be best. ;) Because I swear it can never be enough even with 12 pairs, especially if you wear make-up on a daily basis.

It is just so convenient and easy-to-apply that you'd want to use it again and again. And buying 12 pairs in a go saves you $$$ too! ;)

I remember years ago, I attended this Add Maths tuition class with my best friend, Adam. There was a girl of whom Adam thought was REALLY CUTE.

Well, not until he saw her lift her arms, he spotted a patch of dark armpit hair and he turned to look at me with the word 'DISGUSTED' clearly engraved on his face.

Of course, underarm hair is perfectly natural but many, including myself, consider it embarrassing or unattractive. In fact, I think it is very unhygienic and without a doubt...

A MAJOR TURN OFF!!!

In contemporary culture, hair removal is a grooming practice and many would prefer to remove their underarm hair by shaving as it is less painful and it saves up more time.

There are other options like waxing or using the manual tweezer, but both that options can be quite painful to some. I've been using either the razor or the tweezer, depending on my mood. If I'm lazy, I'll just shave. If I feel a little more hardworking, I'd pluck.

While shaving the underarm hair is a quick and easy practice, maintenance for many people including myself, is daily. By using the manual tweezers to pluck, the hair takes longer to grow, but then again, it's such a tedious practice that my neck hurts.

But today, I need not worry no more. The invention of this "something" that's both fast and gentle, grabs and removes unwanted hair from the roots, keeping it from growing back for weeks.

This is the amazing invention: The WIZZIT!

The best part of the Wizzit is that you can use it anywhere on your body, even on those areas where you were afraid to shave, pluck or wax before.

I personally tried the Wizzit on my eyebrows just for the sake of it, and gosh, I almost distorted my eyebrows' shape. :P In my opinion, I'd recommend the Wizzit mainly for underarm hair.

I mean you don't want to Wizz your armpit then a couple of minutes later, move to Wizz your bikini line then after you're done... You start to Wizz your facial hair?!! Well, I wouldn't want to do that so my Wizzit is mainly to replace my razor.

The Wizzit has no blades, instead working as an epilator, gently removing hair and leaving you with smooth hair-free skin. It is specially designed to reach out and firmly hold on to the hair and its rotating action ensures a gentle removal of the hair shaft, root and all.

Trust me, it's not painful although the whirring sound might scare you a little. Having said that though, may I add that it does not remove 100% of your hair thoroughly as it gets a tad bit tricky when it comes to an uneven surface area. It'll take you a while to get used to getting the Wizzit on the correct angle, then you'll be Wizzing through like a pro.

Do many of you in Malaysia suffer from dry, chapped lips? I know it's terrible to say that I can barely remember the condition of my lips when I used to live back home because all that bothers me right now is how dry it got after I've moved to Australia.

The locals here introduced me to the Lucas' Papaw Ointment which is said to have the ability to rescue chapped lips. Desperate to save my wrinkly looking cracked lips, I purchased a tube to test it out, but I'd say it's better at protecting rather than healing.

Sometimes, the Lucas' Papaw leaves my lips feeling even more dry than before use. I've also tried plenty of other lip balms, including the 'Lip Ice' range which is available at most pharmacies in Malaysia, but none actually worked in healing my lips. :(

Well, not until Michelle from Supermodel's Secrets approached me to review the CARMEX lip balm. Finally after 4 years, I've found the solution to my problem and my lips are now healed. I can't help but have it with me all the time now! :D

When I first used the Carmex though, it stung a little when I applied because my lips were cracked back then. But now that the condition of my lips have improved, it doesn't sting anymore, and it really softens my lips!

I mean, of course the magic didn't happen overnight. I had to apply it often, and kept my lips moist at most times. I used it on a daily basis and it lasted me for slightly more than a month. I have since got myself another tube. *giggles*

That's RM45, yes you read that right babes! They're both RM45 for the lovely top and ribbon shorts. I love how they help us match up a top and bottom at such a low price!

They have long cardi's that I notice are a big hit in Malaysia. I've always wondered why though? It's so damn bloody hot, how can you withstand the heat with these cardis on?

For office ladies, I totally understand because they're in an a/c room all day, but to the malls?!! Okay let's not get into that.

Not too sophisticated, yet elegant.

A guy whom you've been in contact with for a while, is now asking you out for a dinner date - a first date.

You want to look your best, and be as elegant as you can. You want to look beautiful, but yet don't wanna go too overboard. In short, you simply just want to impress him.

I personally think that on your first dinner date, it's best to wear a dress. For obvious reasons, dresses make you more feminine-like. Take this sophisticated, yet simple dress from What's Your Flavour?

You may very well put on a bold necklace like the above from Sleeping Beautee. Or if you prefer to go just with a simple necklace with a beautiful pendant, you can too! But if you're going for a long necklace, which I reckon looks better with this dress, I'd say make sure it's below the V-line. ;)

Bangles like the above from What's Your Flavour are totally optional if wear watches. But if you don't, they are a must. Well, at least for me. Otherwise, I'd feel like my hands look a little too naked. :P

Earrings are important, IMO at least. ;) And for this look, a simple studded one would be good. Because you have both the necklaces and bangles on, we don't want dangling earrings to make you look too over-accessorized

I have friends who do not have piercings, and if you're the same, FRET NOT! You can always match up with some elegant rings. I have a whole collection of rings, and I simple cannot get enough of them. And here at Soak Republic, they have PLENTY of choices to spoil you with - earrings, rings, bracelets, etc.. ;)

And down to the shoes, wedges or heels would be good. ;) I personally prefer heels because I reckon they look more formal. And they're easier to "dangle" on your feet; a move that provokes a man's arousal. ;)

Shoes are statements of your outfit, so NEVER be spotted out on a first date in flats alright! Yes, regardless of how pretty they can get. Unless, it's a casual movie outing, then it's fine. Keep in mind that you don't wanna look sloppy.

It's definitely worth having a look at The Shoe Cupboard, they have plenty of designs that comes in several colours too. But as it is a pre-order thing, you might wanna have a pair prepared to match your fav dress. You never know, HE might just ask you out tonight. ;)

If you wanna pull off a sweeter look rather than appear all elegant, Room 8008 has a lot of 'em pretty dresses. Or if you wanna go for the sexayyyy look, they have red sexy-back dresses too. Your guy won't be able to take his eyes off you, I SWEAR!

If you're going for the sweeter look, simple accessories will do. In that case, I'd say a simple hairband would add on perfectly. The above ribbon hairband from Le Mode Maison might just be the one for you - pretty double-toned ribbon added on with a hint of elegance with the diamante that would bling under the spotlight. ;)

The cool edgy and the feminine.

It doesn't matter if or not you're the cool edgy or the feminine kinda girl, either can pull off this summer pants from Tiffany Wardrobe.

For the cool edgy, a long-tee would go very well with the shorts; Creme Fraiche has quite a number of pretty long tees, some sleeveless if you can't stand Malaysia's heat. ;)

On the other hand, if you wanna pull off a more feminine look, you might wanna match the shorts with this ruffles-lacey-tiered spaghetti floral top from The Odd Loft.

The cool edgy can go with this oversized bag from Tiffany's Wardrobe and chuck whatever nonsense you have into it. I like to bring a water bottle and sometimes even, a storybook out with me, so a big bag comes in handy here.

The feminine can go for the Piero Guidi's inspired circus chain bag from Dusky Wings. You may either carry it on your shoulder or sling it across. I'd say shoulder - simply because it's more feminine-like. I mean if you're going out on a date, you don't really need to carry much stuff. Maybe your Carmex, and some make-up items to touch up a little. ;)

This appeals only for the more feminine look. You may pull your hair back into a high ponytail and have them tied up with these pretty floral chiffon scrunchies from Little Kind of Things. Both ribbon and lace (L) or the bunny-eared (R) ones look just as good. It depends on your personal preference. ;)

I'd like to match it with my top so I'd definitely go for the pink ones. Or white base with orange/pink floral patterns would be nice too! :D

If you don't like tying your hair up, you can go for the cap or hat from The Odd Loft. I'd say the white embroidered muffy cap for the feminine and the floral boater hat for the cool edgy. Or you may switch them around, and have a mix of cool + feminine. ;)

And now, down to the shoes. I picked them up off Dusky Wings. Definitely the brown oxford flats for the cool edgy, or perhaps you could go for a pair of gladiators too!

The feminine can pair up with the two-toned white and pink suede oxford flats, or complete your look with a pair of flats. I spotted a pretty ribbon flats in black & cream (think: Chanel inspired) at Dusky Wings. Worth having a look at! ;)

These are what you'll need and are available at respective blogshops:

An oversized top from Bluey Joyce, that can also be worn with an inner basic as a jacket. I definitely prefer it buttoned up rather than left open. But it's up to you, really.

Match up either with leggings or jeggings from Colorful Pink Room, be it short or full-length, in denim material or trendily ripped.

Then, don't forget to put on a simple make up. If you're in a rush, opt for the instant eyeshadow. Also, remember to apply on some Carmex to keep your lips moist all day long. Keep it in your bag to reapply if you're heading out for a meal! :)

Last but not least, grab a stylish bag with studs ala Balenciaga, and sling it around your shoulder. Don't forget to complete your look with these gorgeous pair of eyelet oxfords. Both the bag and shoes are available, but selling fast at Kiss and Tell.

Plucking your underarm hair can really be a pain in the ass sometimes, because it gives you a sore neck after you're done.

Using the razor shaver is really kinda pointless because your underarm hair starts growing back up the next day itself... And worst still, it grows out POKEY!!!

Sad to admit, I was a really geeky student when I was young and I enjoyed reading story books A LOT. I could finish an Enid Blyton in a day and my mummmy would go, "WHY READ SO FAST?" It gives her headache because reading fast = nothing to read anymore = me wanting to buy new books = spending money! :P

I guess that pretty much explains why I started wearing glasses since I was in Standard 4. And then as I entered high school, it got a tad bit inconvenient with glasses especially when I wanted to play sports. Okay, that was a lie. I just didn't wanna look so nerdy.

I bugged my mum for AGES and finally she brought me to my optician who then introduced me to "contact lenses". That was 8 years ago. But of course at that time, I only wore the clear ones.

As I grew up, I became more vain and wanted to try on the coloured ones. Back then though, they were really expensive and not many people wore colored ones, all the more I wanted because I like to stand out. :P

I loveeeee wearing coloured contact lenses because I can pull it off easily with minimal make-up. Sometimes I don't even bother putting on ANY make-up and yet my eyes don't look tired and droopy.

They say, "Once you start wearing coloured-lenses, you're never going back to clear ones." Heck, that's so true. Because I no longer wear clear contact lenses anymore. In fact, instead of sticking to the usual brown, grey or black contact lenses...

I got a tad bit more adventurous, I tried purple, and I'm now with blue. :P

There's no comparison between the coloured and the clear ones okay! Coloured contact lenses win HANDS DOWN BABAAAAYYYYY!!! :P

So yes, back then coloured contact lenses were so expensive but now, with so many new brands popping up, the prices dropped and yay! They're more affordable now!

Like Geo lenses... and now i-Fairy which I am starting to love and want to try EVERY SINGLE COLOUR! They're all so pretty! Come lemme tempt you babes. :P

I've been screen-shopping a lot around the e-blogshophere even before I started off The Luxurious Fashionista. And if you ask me to name one of my favourite blogshops around, my vote would go to Room8008.

What amazes me most is, through our email conversations months ago, I gather that she does everything single-handedly. Shocking, ain't it? I was gasping like mad.

Yes, she runs her blogshop all by herself, and by that, the roles include:

traveling overseas (ie. Bangkok & Hong Kong) to handpick her stocks;
model them for us fussy girls (with proper make-up and hair-do, mind you);
taking orders and tolerating customers' bad behaviour;
running to and fro the post office or COD to post out the packages.

Phewww! That's one hellavu list. And boy, it does sound stressful, doesn't it?

But it looks like she's managing all right and the quality of her items look really top-notched as well, which I reckon matters most, isn't it? I wish if only (cliche much but) I was thinner. Being slightly plump really kills my passion for fashion.

I see everything in her blogshop and I go GOO-GOO-GAA-GAA! But most of the time, I can't fit into them. I know right, it's sad! But considering a lot of Asian girls are rather petite these days, I bet most girls can find something suitable, no problem. ;)

CAMPING WAS UBER FUN!!! It was a super duper great experience and I take my words back... I have no regrets at all paying A$900 for the 11 days trip. Having said that though, I don't appreciate the "gift" the desert's scorching sun gave me to take home as a souvenir.

Well the thing is, I have really sensitive skin and we did a lot of hiking; my face was so badly sun-burnt the first hike itself that one of my camp mates went, "Wow, the sun sure like you a lot."

If you must know, we did three different hikes in three consecutive days. So well, you can imagine... By the third day I looked like a cooked lobster everybody had a good laugh at me. *shys away*

I came back with a fever and cold due to the weather change and lack of water I would presume. But now that I've recovered, I'm back to rock The Luxurious Fashionista. So without any further ado, let's get back to some business! :D

Short hiatus!

Hi babes,

As you all know, I'm currently studying in Australia and it's the winter holidays now. Instead of returning back home as I usually would every year, this time around I decided to brave the cold. And guess what? I'll be going camping!

I know right, of all things... Camping.

I'm sure I'll be complaining day and night about sleeping in the sleeping bag. I mean, even with the sleeping bag, I'm sure my back can feel the floor still. *gasps*

Why oh why did I pay to go for camp? Don't ask me, it was an impulsive decision, just like how I also buy things impulsively. And since I've already paid $900 (RM2700!!!) I can't just pull out.

So yes, I'll be going to Central Australia and I'll be climbing the Ayers Rock or also known to some as Uluru. Nobody is willing to help me manage this blog temporarily so I guess I'll have to go on a blog hiatus for two weeks.

Apart from Juicy Couture?

When girls hear the initials JC, the first thing that comes to mind first is Juicy Couture. I used to be a really big fan of Juicy Couture, and I still am, although I haven't got myself any JC items yet.

This pair of flats caught me off guard. My heart melted just looking at them. Such delicate details, of rounded studs and a ribbon. I fell head over heels over this pair of flats which I didn't manage to get at last. :(

During my free time, I spend a lot of time browsing through online websites. I call that screen-shopping! :P Coach and Gucci are among the mainstream brands that I particularly adore. But I do spend a lot of time browsing through JC catalogue.

I came across both this JC Rotating Disc Watch and the Fluffy Velour Shoulder Bag, and I wasTHIS close to buying them both... Until I got myself the Coach and Gucci. I ended up having no $$$ for this two. :(

My friend, is as big a fan of Juicy Couture as I am. And she got herself a couple of items. Because she is a shopaholic like that, she has burnt a hole in her pocket buying several luxury brands in a go. I don't know how many of you read my personal blog too, but if you have, you would have came across my blog post titled Let's Polk-a-Dot! I've received several good comments on my toga lacey dress on Facebook and it totally made my day! :D

After an email I received yesterday asking me to sell it, I decided...

Okay this is it, I'm going to bring this dress in for you girls too!!! :D

I went to the store earlier this afternoon to check if it's available. Good news is, YES IT IS STILL AVAILABLE! But bad news is, there are only three sizes left: UK10, UK12 and UK14.

The inner layer of the dress is cotton, where as the outer layer is mesh with diamante polka dots design. It is smoked back, and has a zip on the left hand side.

And this is a close-up of the toga ribbon. :D

I bought mine for $20, multiply that by 3, that's RM60!!!
But it's on sales now so you're getting yours for RM45. ;)

Oh oh oh, by the way, postage is not included yeah?
